Iraq--The Bad Investment

Some 1440 Americans have been Killed in Action (KIA), with some 12,180 Casualties in total. The best month was February 04, when only twenty Americans were KIA, and 146 were WIA. We have been losing about 60 KIA per month or 2 per day, along with 507 WIA per month or about 17 WIA per day. It would be nice to comment that these Casualty numbers are reducing, but they are not; in fact, they have approximately doubled even including the actual days of the War. We do know that the Insurgents are obtaining better Arms, Funding, and developing more sophisticated Intelligence networks. American military forces are again entrenched in base camps, from which they sally out only fully armored with all Combat Support elements on Call.

America has already suffered one Setback (Vietnam) with such a Command strategy. Most American Servicemen posted to Iraq still are unconversant in Arabic--Phasta or Farsi. Our Intelligence assets consist of developed leads provided Us by Our emplaced Native infrastructure; they admittedly corrupt with their own Axe to grind. Our Troops are still shooting up Iraqi homes, and killing Iraqi civilians, while Our enemies effectively target Our native Conscripts and Export Oil lines. Our Intelligence is not tracking the one Summary which most identified our level of progress, which is how rapidly Our emplaced Native infrastructure are building their foreign Bank accounts. What ever happened to the Baby Boomer claim that they would never become like their Parents, and back corrupt practice?

We are going to exceed $300 billion in expenditure on Iraq this Year, though the Bush administration always quoted $50 billion as Total Cost, until the Pricetag already stood at $150 billion. The Sunni Terrorist network already fluxes its muscles effectively, not yet as effectively as under the Saddam regime, but they are not dismayed. They have already executed a Shia religious leader without widespread Comment, something the U.S. military could never have done. American casualties were not this high in the first Two years of the Vietnam Conflict. Are We going to wait another decade to watch American helicopters hauling refugees from the roof of the American embassy again? lgl
